The Student plan is intended to provide reduced cost access throughout the typical collage or university academic year, September through April, without incurring the inconvenience, monthly charges, and, possible, reconnect charges.
Your e-mail remains active and can be accessed through our Web interface and any Web browser application; e.g., Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc.
The Snowbird plan is intended for those who spend protracted periods outside the country (typically the Winter months).
Like the Student Plan, this plan avoids the inconvenience and costs of having an Internet service while you are unable to use it. Your e-mail account remains active and accessible.
This service requires a commitment of at least six consecutive months of service.
If you are new to the Internet we suggest that you subscribe to this plan and gauge your usage before opting for one of the other plans.
Minutes are accumulated throughout the month and billed by the hour. You are responsibile for monitoring your usage — there are no refunds.
You may upgrade to the Unlimited plan at any time.
This plan does not include storage for private Web pages.
ISDN is essentially a "dial" service.
In addition to our access fee charges there may be connect and monthly fees charged by your telephone service provider. You must contact your telephone service provider to arrange to have your telephone service adapted for ISDN.
Your conventional analog modem is not suitable for ISDN; an ISDN specific modem is required. We do not supply ISDN modems.
Provide your First Name (given name) and Last Name (surname).
These fields are optional if Company Name is provided.
Your mailing address for billing purposes. Give your street Address, City, Province and Postal Code in the boxes provided.

If no e-mail address is given aserty will mail your registration confirmation to your Contact postal mail address.
Unless otherwise specified your preferred e-mail name will be your chosen Client ID.
If you wish a more distinctive e-mail name you may supply it here. Like the Client ID, the PEN may consist of up to twenty-six(26) alphabetics (A-Z), numerics (0-9) and, additionally, the period, ".", and the underscore, "_", characters. E.g.
Fred.Flintstone
F_R_Flintstone
(The PEN is often used to retain the e-mail name of a former supplier of e-mail services in order to provide name continuity. Like the Client ID your PEN is case insensitive.)

If the telephone number where ADSL is to be connected differs from that given in your Contact Information supply that number here. Also, the service details must match exactly the account information for this telephone number as held by your telephone service supplier — typically found on your monthly statement.
Make corrections as necessary as inaccurate information will delay the installation of your ADSL service.
It may take up to 5 working days to complete the activation of your ADSL service.
Please be aware that HyperSpeed ADSL service may not be available in all telephone service areas.
Unlike traditional Dial-up service, ADSL is location specific; that is, you can only access Internet services from the location and telephone service to which ADSL is attached.
The "Ancillary Dial Augmented Service" will allow Internet access when away from the ADSL location, e.g., the cottage, through a standard dial-up modem connection.
Minutes are accumulated throughout the month and billed by the hour. You are responsibile for monitoring your usage — there are no refunds.
Your conventional analog modem — typically labeled "56K V9.2 Modem" — is not suitable for use with ADSL; an ADSL modem is required. Any ADSL style modem that meets the G.992.1(G.dmt) or G.992.2(G.Lite) specification is suitable.
You may supply your own compliant ADSL modem or you may purchase a suitable modem from aserty.
Your password is used to ensure the privacy of your e-mail and to restrict access to your Client ID. Choose your password wisely ensuring that it could not be easily guessed. Although there is much written about how you should "disguise" your password (e.g. making it long and obscure) we at aserty do not feel that a common word that is easily remembered is any less secure than a string of randomly chosen characters and numbers. What\'s a word anyway but a randomly chosen series of grunts and squeaks!
Also, be aware that aserty does not keep a record of your password. If you forget it you will have to contact aserty Support (see our Contact page) to have a new password assigned . Guard your Client ID and password well! You are ultimately responsible for ALL usage against your Client ID regardless as to who incurred that usage. You may not share your Client ID; this is a violation of our Terms of Service.
The Client ID is what is commonly referred to as your "User ID" or "Logon ID". Although it may be any string of alphabetic (A-Z) and numeric (0-9) characters with a length of from 6 to 20 characters, may we suggest that you use some part of your real name as your Client ID.
E.g. suppose your name is Fred Flintstone, you could choose:
Fred
Flintstone
FRFlintstone
FlintstoneFR
Rocky
The use of upper and lower case in the examples is for readability only, the Client ID is case insensitive: i.e. FFlintstone is the same as FFLINTSTONE, or fflintstone, or FfLiNtStOnE. Guard your Client ID and password well! You are ultimately responsible for ALL usage against your Client ID regardless as to who incurred that usage. You may not share your Client ID; this is a violation of our Terms of Service.
